WOULD YOU LIKE TO LEARN TO SEW?
AT BLUEBIRD, WE AIM TO MAKE IT AS EASY AS POSSIBLE TO LEARN.
Here's how our sewing classes work:
Bluebird's sewing classes are arranged sessionally rather than as a course or continuous class so that you can drop in and drop out as and when suits you.
The workshop format of our classes means that you pick the project you'd like to sew. And if you sign up to one of our beginner classes, you'll complete it at the venue during class time.
Classes are held in the East Belfast and Dundonald areas. Once you've signed up, you'll receive the venue address via email as well as any other details you'll need before you attend.
JUST STARTING OUT?
WE'LL PROVIDE EVERYTHING YOU NEED
All beginner workshop costs are inclusive of materials and we'll will even set you up on our own machines if you'd prefer.
Each class has a maximum of five spaces so that no-one gets left behind.
PROGRESS WITH BLUEBIRD
At Bluebird, we cater for all abilities. That means that we welcome total newbies to the world of sewing. If you'd like to learn to sew but aren't sure where to start, you'll be welcome to any of our BEGINNER classes. Here we'll spend the first hour of the workshop going over the basics of using a sewing machine. All beginner projects are finished under the supervision of your tutor.
INTERMEDIATE classes are designed for those of you who feel confident about sewing simple projects with your machine at home on your own, but want to improve your skills and work on more complicated projects including zips, pockets, quilts and dressmaking. Some, but not all intermediate classes will involve some independent 'homework.' Some classes will require that you bring your own fabric. See class details for more information on homework and material requirements.
ADVANCED classes are for those who have a lot of experience behind the sewing machine but are looking for an extra special (but difficult) technique to add to their string of sewing skills. In our advanced classes, we focus on teaching you a unique skill, but completing the project itself will often require some independent 'homework.' Some classes will require that you bring your own fabric. See class details for more information on homework and material requirements.
